Pleeeeease stop doors closing on their own

All this silly feature is doing is annoying us legit players (especially android users) by randomly fucking up our runs to banks and shops. It's completely unnecessary and honestly I assumed it was just a shit bug until it was never removed. It just seems like a stupid feature that achieves nothing in terms of bot security, but frustrates all the regular legit users (and there are FAR many more legit players than bots - shouldn't we be more focused on making the legit players' experience better?).

I mean your guys' bot-detection systems and mod diligence/awareness are second to none in the RSC world (including rscrevolution at their prime), so why rely on something as benign (and ineffective) as automatically shutting doors every 15 minutes? Anyone with half a brain is just going to add a door-checker to their scripts, and even if they don't, I find it hard to believe that catching people stuck at closed doors is the most effective way of detecting and banning botters. It might catch out SCAR users, but who the hell uses SCAR anymore?

Anyway that's just my two cents after months of putting up with this crappy bug-like feature. I'm yet to see a single botter caught by it, but I've heard over a dozen people complain about it (especially at the fishing guild, especially on android). So can you guys pretty please consider removing this stupid useless feature and make this game slightly less frustrating to play on Android and with shitty mouses (eg. laptops).

I know it seems like a small insignificant thing in the grand scheme of things, but it's the principle of the matter. This feature isn't stopping bots, it's just annoying the community. And that's bad bot prevention.

PS: Or at least make them close every half-hour/hour instead of every few minutes (which is overkill imo). There's just not enough bots on RSCR to justify keeping something this disruptive to gameplay. And even if there were, as I said - they'll just add door-checkers, so what's the point??

I like the doors closing too but agree the time is way exaderated. I play on Android so extra clicking sucks as is. ...

I agree with Scorned. I do think them naturally closing on their own is good. But I do agree with the timer being too short.

Are you being serious? A bot can easily open a door it's a couple lines of the script. It's just ruining it for legit players.

Most of the botters use pretty defined scripts. Botters are lazy, that's why they don't play. It's unlikely these.lazy players are writing a script for doors.

Good luck trying to make one that would serve that purpose on rscr lol I'm shooting towards they.will be too lazy and give up

Botting has been going on for over a decade on rsc and rsc private servers. There are very few scripts, if any that don't support opening doors. Most of us are experienced botter from back in the days of real rsc, so we know a thing or 2 about this shit.

I agree the timer is too fast.

If you were to pay attention, you could see that only buildings that can be abused; containing items, monsters, ores, beds and quest-related doors, close on their own.

All other doors are open and accessable.

I've heard iron axe fetch a great price in ah

Cooks assistant quest, naturally spawned items, and a basement of spiders are closed. They spawn items, mobs and can be automated.

Now we arrive to Varrock, the largest city in the free-world. Fairly uninhabited the Npc-to-player ratio is about 50 to 3.


Here's my favorite house, free cabbage. This oddly shaped building that serves no purpose but to shield the Black-arm gang. The bar's always open for business. Swords are rarely bought at this store. All open and accessible.

Many buildings in Varrock have open doors. In this case, muggers may be breaking into them.

The other side, you DO have item spawns, leather armor and a log, the closed door is related to the phoenix gang quest, and buildings that are always vacant.

Very specific buildings have closing-doors, there is an excellent place to bank, cook and sleep. There we have a pink skirt, vital to the Prince rescue quest. Also, very fashionable.
