Future event suggestions

I know a lot of these have been suggested before, but since we are approaching the "holiday season" I figure it's worth starting to suggest new ideas for events that might be implemented before christmas/new years/etc.

- x/y/z city monster takeoverss. With maybe 10-15 min warning spawn a large number of monsters of one or various levels in a city (ie Varrock overrun by imps and lessers, Falador overtaken by skeletons and zombies, zamorak priest/necromancer/iban disciples in forest south of draynor. Maybe have them give slightly unusual drops or something to entice people, or general reward for those who participate (ie participating in event gives 1.5x xp or something)

- Bosses / Overpowered monsters. Already suggested and discussed a bit here - http://www.rscrevolution.com/viewtopic.php?id=5973&p=2 - Make a monster that's temporary and comparable to KBD with rewards for all who participate in killing. I like the idea of it being non-wild and roaming map (or in wildy and roaming map)

- "hide and seek" santa NPC. Basically mimc already existing mod-run Hide and Seek games, but instead have Santa be a NPC that spawns randomly in some location. When someone talks he gives a santa hat, then disappears again. He would then respawn at some other time in a new location. Wouldn't have to immediately spawn, could spawn in a new location every hour or two, maybe give world  text "Santa's flying overhead" and then people have to scatter and search whole map. Since more people would probably participate and multilog for this event don't even bother giving out clues.

Or, to make it even harder, you could even have santa spawn at beginning of hour in 1 position and if not found after 10 minutes, move to another, and have world text just say "Santa's moving west!" or "santa's moving east!" or "Santa is leaving varrock headed south!" something like that as far as hints. Could probably get away with spawning santa in more outlandish places than the usual hide and seek (ie upstairs of some building no one bothers going in, etc.)

-Christmas giving events. This one is probably impossible to arrange/organize/program, lol, but maybe make some sort of secret santa exchange for christmas? Maybe an NPC where you submit an item and on christmas it randomizes and redistributes everything to those who participated? Probably lots of people would donate crap items, but I'm sure someone would be excited to randomly get 1m or a super set or something on christmas day. Or maybe some other way of rewarding those who are charitable during christmas, ie documenting on forums how many items you gave to new players, randomly rewarding those who are helpful on forums and chat, etc.

Scavenger hunts - Similar to race events, but have all players start in one  area with empty invent and they have to get 4-5 items from surroundings (ie start in middle of varrock and get berries, cabbage, wooden shield, and pie dish. Disqualified for banking. Possibly disqualified for buying, but could be fun to have people get items they need to pay for but can only get gp by killing NPCs or thieving. Demonstrates knowledge of various areas, and instead of just being a linear race that is half skill, half luck, people have a much wider range to cover and various paths they can take. Also works well with wildy - start with empty invent at edge and have to collect  X drops from all over wildy, leaving people vulnerable to pking, etc.

Crafting/smithing contest Similar to scavenger hunt, but only start with a few necessary items, and players have limited time to get all resources and craft or smith an item. For example, start at speedmine near ardougne, first to smith 5 iron platebodies from scratch wins. etc. etc.

The Amazing Race - Pretty sure events like this have happened before, but would love to see it more often or planned one like once a month. Would probably be pretty in-depth and have to be pre-planned. Basically a cross between a scavenger hunt, a race, a pk event, and any other events. Starts at a specific time and the goal is to race all over the RS map, starting from one side, moving to the other, circling back, hitting 5-6 different spots where there are tasks to complete, mini-contests, or items to collect, with first person to do all being winner. Possibly could have it end in wildy, with first person to reach the end winning a grand prize, and remaining contestants able to fight for second and third place. Obviously would have to be rules as far as tele-ing, lvl requirements for tasks, or explicit instructions how to complete event, but that could be decided ahead of time.

PK events

I don't really PK so I don't have a ton of ideas for PK events. Would love someone else to suggest more. Here's a couple variation ideas off the top of my head.

Death To The Tyrant - (My inspiration for this comes from the game "smear the queer" but that name is horrible and I don't like it, plus this sounds more dramatic lol.) Basically a cross between a low lvl PK event and a boss. One person with a flat char volunteers to be "the tyrant," who gets to wear full armor/weapons and run around wildy. Meanwhile low lvl people have to catch and kill him... Without any armor or weapons! There are opportunities for dozens of variations (ie levelcap 35 against lvl 120+, no armor; lvl 5-10 chars only, all armor, ranged, pots, mage allowed; allow or disallow mage and range, all similar levels but only one person gets to use equipment, etc.) Not sure if mods could work around lvl difference for this event, but would be hilarious to watch 2 dozen low lvls dying to full rune/drag flat.

"tag"/"GnomeBall: THE KILLING" - Basically everyone skulls and only item is 1 gnome ball. It takes place in an arena and typing ::event brings you directly back to the event if you die. One person has gnome ball and is "it" and everyone else has to kill each other to get the gnome ball. IDK if there'd be a real way to decide a winner in this event but it would be fun to see a really hectic, almost constant pk fight with people immediately tele-ing back into the action right after they die. I guess winner could be whoever still has gnome ball at end of a "round" which is a pre-decided time. Like violent hot potato lmao.

Unusual Item DMs - This is mostly a way to try to bring some value to so-deemed useless items like throwing knives, spears, daggers, maces, etc. Basically the usual DM event but people have to prove they are using some kind of unconventional weapon, whether it be a quest item or an unpopular weapon.

These are just ideas off the top of my head. Would love to heart variations, improvements, issues, and additional ideas. I love the events and community on this forum and am always trying to think of new ways to add to that, so I will probably post new ideas here in the future.

Thanks!

Thought of one more event idea, this one might actually be pretty easy to implement.

"Caravan Assault"

Set up:
2 parties of equal size, party leaders are picked ahead of time and they draft teams.  1 person not affiliated with either party, this person will be "the caravan."

Goal:
Team #1 is on offense
Team #2 is on defense

The player who is "the caravan" is loaded up with whatever prize or loot is selected as the reward (Ideally a collection of rune armor, assorted runes, food... Would work best with more than just money maybe something similar to a standard Revenant drop). The Caravan starts in one place in wildy (Let's say varrock, near rats) and then has to follow a certain path into deep wilderness, then back out to safety. Team #2 starts out with the caravan and is charged with protecting the caravan along its route. Team #2 starts somewhere along the route and then is tasked with killing all members of defense, and, ultimately, the Caravan.

If the Caravan dies, offensive team picks up the cargo and splits it among themselves.... Or fights to keep it- depends on how they work as a team wink

If the Caravan makes it through the wild and survives all the way to its destination, the Caravan splits the loot with their escorts.

To help furnish the Caravan, members of both teams could "buy in" with something for the caravan. Armor or runes or what have you.

Example of how I imagine this working out:

Team #2 and the Caravan start in Varrock, needs to make deliveries to Axe Hut, Bandit Camp, and, finally, Monks of Zamorak.
Team #1 meets at Zombie Graveyard to ambush the Caravan.
Mod announces game start, Caravan leaves Varrock and heads north to Axe Hut.
Team #1 attacks! Team 2 defends and attempts to flee
Mod is waiting at Axe hut- Caravan and surviving defenders arrive and check in, given the OK to go to next stop.
Continue on to Bandit Camp (while still being attacked!)
Those from team #1 who died on the way to Axe Hut are waiting at bandit camp to ambush, along with those who continue to attack the Caravan. Perhaps on the way there is a lul in fighting and people refurnish the Caravan with defense pots or food to help support him.
Tragedy strikes! Someone kills the Caravan and gets all the loot... Team 2 fails. BUT the leader of team 1, who dealt the final blow and picks up the stuff feels selfish and won't share, so now it's a free for all DM.

ALTERNATIVELY

The Caravan survives the trip against all odds and makes the final delivery to the monks of Zamorak... There is much rejoicing and mod oversees distribution of goods.

the end.
