This is a suggestion for a new quest and area to RSCR

I feel as though we should have our own quest added as it has been 5 years, This would also make the world feel a little bigger, and the narrative would add for some world building as well, I am willing to do some art and spriting for any new NPC's and Items added for the quest as well, whatever is needed. Anyways Here is the Script for the quest.

Desert quest Title (WIP)

Setting: large desert area added to the south of the kharidian desert, city added at south coast of the desert with a ruins area beside it as an old part of the city filled with random “digger” npcs, pyramid beside that probably to north of ruins. Small dock added to the western coast of the desert with 1 house and a shop beside it, on far south eastern part of desert add a small port similar to khazard. Bandit cave which will be in between western ship dock and the bedoin camp. On most of the souther eastern portion of the new desert, if plausible add sandstorm effect using same principles as snow if possible, and add a few rocks to form an outcrop with a broken wagon in the middle of this area closer to the small port on the eastern coast.
Start:  Hassan

1: Hassan is looking for an adventurer to recover and artifact for him,  and explains a history of the artifact (if technical limitations allow, player will be teleported and locked in place with Hassan explaining the history with NPCS acting it out in real time (will elaborate more on this later)) If not he just explains he needs an ancient al karadian artifact retrived from emporer’s tomb  in the southern desert as soon as possible. He then tells you to speak to his spymaster osman.

2:Osman explains that the artifact is locked inside a giant tomb (pyramid) that can only be opened via a special key, but this key has also been lost for ages and that (digsite man name WIP) at the digsite is an expert in desert archaeology and may know more about this key and where it may be, osman also explains that the sultan in (Arabic city in far south desert (traditional) rivals of al karhad) has been looking for the same artifact and has been making leaps of progress towards it and that the emir is worried they will complete their goal losing the artifact from al karhad forever. He asks that you return to him after speaking to digsite man.

3:Digsite man explains what follows of the ancient history explaining that a legnend has that a buried chamber in the ruins of the old southern city contains the key, and the way to find that chamber involves a magical gemstone in another buried chamber. He gives you a map of the ancient city. He then explains that the gemstone was stolen some time ago by a band of desert raiders and that you may be able to find information of them by asking around the (southern desert city).

4:  when relaying this information to osman he informs you that leela will again be helping you with your mission, but that the emir’s son ali has also requested to be involved with the operation. Osman explains that they must travel undercover so as not to raise suspicion and that they will meet you at the (desert city) inn when you wake up from sleeping. He then sends you to (southern desert city).

5: upon arriving at inn in (southern desert city) you sleep triggering leela and prince ali to appear albeit somewhat disguised, (will extrapolate later on disguises) (if technical limitations do not allow temp NPC spawns from sleeping, will write a workaround) they explain to you that although making some progress they still have no idea where the bandits are actually located and tell you that you should go investigate their whereabouts by talking to the sultan, they also explain they could not do this because they are both known as al kharidians.

6: you go to the sultans palace and are questioned by the gaurds, they tell you you cannot enter or talk to the sultan as he is very busy and has no time for commoners especially foreign ones you then hear the gaurds talk about how the guard at the back door has a thing for (random item or food here) and you think of a plan to bribe/distract him. Once this is done u can pick the lock (level  30 req) on the back door and make your way up to the sultans throne room.

7: talking to the sultan he asks how you got in there but figures you must be relatively reasourceful  and asks you what you want from him, (multiple dialogue options appear) you tell him you heard he may have a bandit problem. He admits he does and offers you a reward of gold and jewels for killing their leader. He then tells you him and his bandits currently occupy a cave north west of the city but that you should probably get some help before you go in to fight them….

8: go back to the inn and sleep to bring back leela and prince ali, you then tell them what the sultan has told you, leela tells you not to get distracted from the sultan’s offer but to remain on task, prince ali however tells you that he actually managed to meet a bandit in town, and met with the bandit ringleader and managed to make a deal with them to secure the gemstone. He then tells you to meet him outside the bandit cave and to drop rocks beside the rock entrance when you arrive to let him know you are there (this acts a trigger spawning him to talk to you) he tells you the bandit leader is down in the cave and tells you to go talk to him

9: walk down into cave into what resembles a makeshift tavern and living quarters with a fight area beside it with 4 cave entrances

10: talking to the bandit leader he says prince ali has made a deal with him and you can buy the gemstone for 100,000 gold coins, but he doesn’t do business with a man he doesn’t respect and would like you to do a little challenege for him before he will do business with you. You reluctantly comply and he tells you he runs a small fighting pit for sport sometimes, an idea he got from the khazardians. He says he wants you to complete a fight ring for him, and that if you survive he will sell you the gemstone.

11: you enter the fight pit, fighting will be based on killing a set number of animals, that won’t despawn, all will be spanwed at once.
round 1: level 1 spiders,
Round 2: scorpions
Round 3 deser wolves
Round 4 uganthanki camel
Round 5 desert spiders (will explain them later)
Round 6 sand burrowers
Round 7 egyptian jackels ( will explain later)
Round 8 The scorpion king (some “the rock” in “the mummy 2” type shit. Or just some “the rock” in “the scorpion king” type guy

12: upon surviving you leave and talk to the ringleader again, he says you were magnificent and showed an excellent display of combat and gives you the gemstone at no cost. He also asks you do one more favour and hands you his necklace, and tells you to tell the sultan that he is dead, so the sultan’s men will no longer be an acute problem for him, you oblige.

13: upon exiting the cave (trigger if possible) prince ali spawns and congratulates you on surviving, you find this odd but don’t mention it. You mention the sultan’s reward, and prince ali says that after you talk to the sultan you should go back to the digsite and talk to the (digsite man) to figure out how to find the key room.

14: you go to the sultan again, this time the gaurds let you in, you show the sultan the bandit leaders necklace and he rewards you with jewels and gold, ( 5 gold bars, one cut of every gemstone, and 10k gold coins). He then asks you if while you were there you happened to come across “a magical gem” (i.e. the on you were there for) at all.
*****POSSIBLE RPG ELEMENT HERE***** (tell him you have it)

15: you lie to him and say that you don’t have it, and he says “oh well if you do happen to come across it, I will pay even more handsomely for it.

16: having now travelled back to the digsite man with the gem, he excitedly explains to you that he has done some more reading, and that he has now found the location of the map room, he then draws an X on your map indicating where the map room is. (accomplished with object switch, when around dig site area map with x functions in same manor as compass, pointing direction to dig point to get into the map room) he then explains that you should get a spade and some rope. He then explains the map room, which is essentially a complete rip from the raiders of the lost ark with a miniature model of the old city (obviously we would just use a simple sprite or something here) except that there is a large holder on one wall of the room. Digsite man then explains that he doesn’t know how to make the gem show the location of the key room, but that the gem itself was supposedly infused with the power of a tsunami ( or something like that, regardless it’s a clue to use water wave on it when it’s placed in it’s holder) he also says you will probably need some help pulling yourself back up from the map room so you should bring some friends (hopefully player knows this means to go sleep at the inn again,)

17: you sleep at the inn, when you wake up leela and ali are there and you explain to them you all can now find the map room to locate the key room, leela and ali explain to you that the sultan has doubled his efforts in excavating the area and trying to enter the pyramid and that they should hurry and that they all must use a disguise and travel separately (throwaway line to explain the technical limitations of them not actually being able to follow you, unless n0m you can actually do that and then you’re a goddam hero), and that a local clothing shop will sell something that will work.
18: you go to the clothing shop and talk to the clothier, leela and ali spawn and tell you you guys are going to buy all desert clothes as well as a white arab sheik mantle (arabs won’t care but if we wanna toe the PC line on this one we are welcome to cut this out, although if we do we should just cut out even the RSC part of al karhad in general) and leela wears niqab (once again, I know hijabbis don’t play this, but we can have em all just wear desert clothes if u want). They then say once again you all need to travel separately.

19: you leela and ali go to the digsite and dig where the map leads you (spawns hole as well as leela and ali), you get ali to hold the rope as you and leela descend into the room, she reminds you of what you told he the digsite guy said to you, so you don’t have to check that pesky guide to get the water wave hint again.
20: you put the gemin the holder, and shoot a water wave at it, and it starts working (the miniature city sprite can have some blue lines or something added and then this sprite will replace it) you then mark a new x on the map for the key room (once again switch the map object out for a new one). Leela is impressed with you, (spark a little chemistry for the story?)

21:  climb up the rope and find the new spot and dig(spawn ali and leela) (have this spot beside a rock so the rope can hang on to it, (have leela and ali talk about how people are looking at them to build a little suspence maby) go down into the room, and find the key. (ideally this room will be decorated rather nicely and the key on a table or something
22: climb back up the rope and remark about how leela and ali are gone, and that you should probably just continue with the mission and walk over to the pyramid

23: put key in pyramid (spawns leela and ali again) they excitedly remark about how it’s finally open and wonder what treasures are inside. Ali says you should get inside quickly and that he will follow your lead once you are inside. Leela says she will maintain a watch outside and tells you to be careful.

24: you enter the pyramid with ali (will probably need to have the pyramid itself spwn in a basement or aboveground level to accomplish what we need to here, else it might turn out a bit wonky) will also have 3-7 levels depending on ambition ( if stairs could function as teleporters it could really make the design aspect of this easy)first room has desert spiders and ali freaks out, and says he will catch up to you later and disappears

25: you make your way through the pyramid filled with npcs  (jackels, jackel statues, desert beatles, desert spiders, mummies, scorpions, and king scorpions) thieving obstacles and chests and agility obstacles (with exp earnings to be the same as the wildy course, but more annoying because npcs and higher fails)(was also thinking quicksand could be added as a recolour of water texture and then used beside some obstacles)*this agility course is part of the motivation for people to do the quest. (an inaccessible chamber, at least until the quest is finished, will also be built and an “undead high preist” will be put into it for post quest boss farming purposes, more on this later)

26: when you get to the artifact chamber and go to touch the artifact and undead emporer spawns, boss battle ensues. Once defeated you grab the artifact

27: upon grabbing the artifact prince ali spawns and begins to say how amazing this is that you guys nhave retrieved the artifact and how thankful he is for your help, he also says he is sorry. At that moment spawn the bandit leader in with 10 bandits and have prince ali shoot you with a poisoned crossbow bolt.  (crossbow bolt should hit a poison splotch equal to current hp-1 for dramatic effect and a fake “you are dead” screen should take place if possible, even better would be to fully fake “kill” the character.

28: player then wakes up in bedoin camp with leela and the camp leader al shabim. Leela explains she saw all the bandits and the leader enter with ali and knew something wasa going very wrong when they came back out without you so she ran to the bedoins for help, they then came and retrieved you and brought you back to the camp just in time because it was just about too late. She then explains that before she left she heard the prince and the ringleader talk about how they were going to meet in the eastern desert port of (ill think of name later) and that the bandits were going to ride their horses there immidietly but the prince needed to get a camel coach to take him there.  She says there is probably still time to catch him in the desert but that you should hurry.

29: al shabim says you should take one of his horses to catch prince ali so you do ( horse would be a black unicorn with the horn and any yellow colouring removed. It would function as a teleporter as well. First to a cliff overlooking the sandstormed south east portion of the desert, it would also req 60 agil to use)

30: when you get to the cliff, player locked in place and remarks about how there is a large sandstorm ahead but that he can see wagon tracks leading into the sandstorm and how he should hurry before they disappear into the desert, you then hop back onto the horse

31: you get off the horse at broken wagon that crashed on some rocks with prince ali wondering around looking injured (if possible tear his shirt up or just have him wander aimlessly). Your horse starts to get anxious and takes minor damage so you pat in on the head and tell him to go back home.

32: you confront prince ali about his betrayel bringing up the fact that you saved him and all the trouble you went through for the kingdom and how he is betraying his father, he tells you you don’t understand the power behind the artifact (we will fit this into the backstory somehow) and how he and the bandit ringleader were to become gods among men with riches and land as far as the eye can see (or he gives some other explanation possibly how he wants his own legacy, or even something as simple as the bandit ringleader offered him 1m gp for it, this will be a WIP)

33: the prince then asks if you will have mercy and let him go

34: CHOICES!!!!!!!, at this point you can kill the prince or let him go, Either way you will be given the artifact or pick it up off of his bones. And thus begins the end game portion of the quest
Endings include:
Contract fulfilled:  you bring the artifact back to Hassan and fufill your contract, reward will be figured out for quest, Hassan gives different responses depending on weather you killed ali or not but is in no way hostile, Hassan also tells you to talk to leela who is back in drynor as she has something for you. Upon talking to leela she is kind of flirty and gives you a key to access the pyramid, says there are all sorts of treasures still in there, she also gives you a key the bedoins gave her to a sealed off room (the one containing the farmable boss) they have passed down for centuries. At this point, the sultan in the south hears about this, and realizes you are lieing and guard npc in that city becomes aggro to player

Karma’s a coma:
Players with a little intuition can keep walking westward to find the bandit ringleader at the eastern port. He will offer to give you the same deal he was going to give prince ali, you can either take the deal or kill him, if you kill him he will drop 100k(or something else of decent value) and a casket, and you can also finish with one of the other endings. The casket will contain 1gp and a note essentially saying “eat shit” alternatively the player can give the artifact to the bandit ringleader and get just the casket and learn all sorts of wonderful lessons.  Al kharid learns of this and all the gaurds become hostile in al kharid, and the gate gaurds now attempt to charge 1m in order to pass through the gate (make it actually charge for any idiot that clicks yes to it). Also if Ali was killed every non shop npc becomes hostile as well, and npc shops will not do any business with the player at all. Southern city sultan also knows your shennaigans and his gaurds will attack on site too.

The highest bidder:
Bring it to the sultan and gives you a large chunk of reward money or items or something and gives u a reverse engineered pyramid key along with one to the sealed chamber his gaurds found while excavating. You also get access to some sweet underground rock sites that they found while excavating The negative concequences stated above for al kharid also apply

IT BELONGS IN A MUESAM!:
Alternatively if you are really intuitive you can bring it to the digsite man who will tell you it might be best to just take it to the varrok muesam or if you have the initiative you can just bring it there yourself, the curator is estatic about the piece you have brought in and how monumental it will be to the muesam and gives you a certificate to give to the king for a reward, (another reward will be offered here) also as you guessed,  both of the desert cities will hate you here as well.
Quest complete!
exp rewards will be kinked out
But a south desert city teleport will now be able to be used for 2 law and 2 fire

this is a very rough draft of things so I apologize for any errors and mistakes in it
