World Boss Daily or Holiday Event by humans

Holiday season, drunk af. Vigor and I had this idea a while back for a new type of event which could be a daily/weekly/random/holiday event.

Introducing... "Best Pk World Boss"

How would it work?

1) Mega Boss with lots of HP spawned at a random location on the map (can be inside or outside of wilderness)
2) Global message announcing location of the boss (place the boss on the outskirt of different towns). The boss can only damage you if you attack it.
3) You need a specific type of weapon to damage the boss (e.g. "The Best Pk Boss has spawned at Lumbridge and can only be damaged by a Rune Dagger")
4) Boss has different stages - make it challenging
A) Stage 1: at 75% hp the boss will spawn minions to attack everyone, you must defeat all minions before he can be damaged
B) Stage 2: at 50% hp the boss will hit major damage on you unless you stand on a specific square to avoid damage (square tile will be colored coded so ppl can stand on the specific square)
B) stage 3: Aka Apeshit Mode, at 25% HP the boss will start flinging projectiles at everyone. You will have to dodge projectiles to not be damaged.
6) Loots = pk shit, rare boxes, etc
7) ::wb to see location/boss spawn time/wep required

When should the boss spawn?

- This can be a daily event every 6hrs boss will spawned (Timer on forum/Discord)
- This can be a random event triggered by mods
- This can be a weekly event
- This can be a holiday event

I agree, but with a different approach. Instead of increasing def requirements, restrict these special armour from staking. Very few people can obtain these items, and 40defs already have an advantage in this combat system.

Everyone should be on the same level playing field albeit different stats for a fair and equal probability of risk.

Problem

1: People get bored easily and development is critical to promote longterm growth.
2: Content must be engaging and meticulously executed with utmost quality and precision.
3. Skillers need some love. The last major non-wilderness update was about a century ago.
4. Player retention is essential for growth. Players must have enjoyable and endless content that can be refreshed on a regular basis.

Solution: Daily Task System

1: This will completely revolutionize the game by integrating every skill inside and outside of wilderness including PVM/PK/SKILLING.
2: This system will lay the groundwork for achievement diary due to many similarities in structure and construct.
3: This system will preserve the integrity intact for that authentic "Rsclassic feel" by integrating existing elements in the game.
4: People will have incentives to do their daily tasks.
5: Increase player retention and growth with endless and fresh new tasks each day.
6: This system is an ironman/veteran/skiller's dream.

How it Works


1a: There will be a Daily Task NPC at Edgeville who will present you with four options - Easy/Medium/Hard/Master daily tasks.

1b: Or type ::daily to open up the daily task interface - choose the level of difficulty and complete your task.
2: Once you talk to the NPC or ::daily, an interface will appear allowing you to select the difficulty level (easy/medium/hard/master)
3: Each difficulty level has (3) tasks e.g. (4) level of difficulty x (3) tasks = Maximum of 12 Tasks per day.
4. Completion of each level of difficulty will reward you with: 1) Event points 2) Book of XP+ (These books can give you XP in ANY skill, including prayer and slayer (may need an XP reduction). Click on "Claim Reward" on the interface after you have completed your tasks.
5. Rewards are based on the difficulty of the task completed (more points and books for master tasks compared to easy tasks).
6. Completion of ALL your daily tasks (all 12 of them) will grant you an "additional" reward: A Daily Task Present (random loots, pk gears, mercenary pieces, new items, cosmetics, etc).
7. Daily Task Present is tradable to players.
8. Tasks are reset every 24 hours.
9. Tasks are dynamic meaning you may get different tasks from other players based on the pool of tasks randomized and selected from.
10. You may get tasks inside or outside of wilderness.
11. Tasks may include any skill, any npc, and wilderness pk.

Sample Tasks


Easy Tasks


1: Kill 100 Men
2: Light 100 Fire
3: Spin 100 Flax

Medium Tasks


1: Defeat 250 Thugs
2: Steal from 250 Stalls
3: Fletch 1000 arrows

Hard Tasks


1: Defeat 250 NPCs in the wilderness
2: Fish 500 Swordfish
3: Cook 500 Sharks

Master Tasks


1: Defeat 25 players in the wilderness
2: Defeat 25 KBDs with magic
3: Defeat 50 Greater Demons with a Mithril Dagger

Rewards

1: Daily Task Progress in the interface and chatbox (toggle in settings): "e.g. Men task progress: 25/100".
2: A chatbox notification of when your task is completed: "e.g. You have completed your easy task! Return to the Daily Task Master to collect your reward" - or you could just claim your reward via the ::daily interface (same as talking to the npc).
3: The ::daily interface will provide you with current progress for each task.

Pretty embarrassing. The moron literally SS'd using a 3rd party software, admitting to AHK bind F1, using it for 4+ years, and openly stated his entire team uses it. It's amusing to see these same people denying the use or knowledge of it in this thread. Then again, they've always been a stranger to logical reasoning and have the loudest mouths in the game whilst influencing the developer to make decisions which led PK to a crippling decline.

It's interesting that the game dev questions the integrity of competing server, but takes no action to clean up this cheating shit in the game and allows offenders to go unpunished.

Bug Abuser of the Month - "Murdered" - If you're not going to punish the bug abuser, at least patch this up @n0m. Either forced teleportion or log-out exploit. Happens too frequently in the wilderness by the same person. Check logs. Keep the game clean.

Castle PK Solution by humans

Border is dead. Nothing is being done to promote growth in this area.
Castle is dead. Parked by 100s of alts at virtually every level to ambush players.
Fort is an alt farm easily exploited by vpns, mobile devices, UIDs, etc.
Cheaters, scammers, scumbags continue to get away with bug abusing and breaking ToS rules.

A few examples:

Zammy flat scammer - took billions of people hard earned money which I exposed to protect the players in the game -
result: your team reduced a ban to virtually NOTHING for something that constituted a permanent ban. Clear preferential treatment.

AHK 61s staking - I have sent videos and countless evidence for months demonstrating macro behavior. Yet it took months for any action to be taken. The 61 staking scene was severely crippled as a result. The same individual who conducted the zammy flat scam is associated and involved in this situation.

Wildy bug abusing - Your ToS explicitly states: "No bug abuse. If you find a bug, you are obligated to report it in the bug report section or to a staff member. If it's an exploitable or game-breaking bug, please contact a staff member in a private message instead of posting it in the bug report section. The staff list can be found here. If you are found exploiting any bug for your own personal gain (items/gp, skilling, PKing etc), you will be banned."

The individual involved was caught TWICE yesterday:

1) Gemaras vs bug abuser during a 1v1 - the bug abuser was out of food and intentionally escaped IN COMBAT by exploiting the bug.
2) Deep wildy p2p pk. The bug abuser once again exploited the bug at low hp while IN COMBAT with four witnesses in that area. Instead of reporting the bug as stated in ToS, he intentionally abused it again to escape from wildy.

@n0m I tried my best to protect Rev players from these scammers and bug abusers. However, you and your team continue to take no actions against them. There is no objectivity in this game. It's clear to me at this point certain people get preferential treatment and there is no point anymore for me to defend the players in the game given this biased and corrupted system. I gain nothing from reporting these cheaters and I suffer constant negative harassment and threats which I gladly endure for the sake of protecting the innocent average players in the game. This is the final straw for me. The last courtesy I will do for Rev is to keep this rant in this topic instead of making a separate topic. I wish the very best for RSCRevolution, and hope you guys will do the right thing once and for all by protecting your players from these malicious individuals with criminal tendencies.

@jauroo I'm not going to attempt to read this wall of text until you revise it properly. Learn to type like an adult starting with proper grammar: punctuation, indentation, and paragraph spacing. Instead of typing rambling paragraphs filled with unnecessary expletives and ad hominem, use fewer, clear, and succinct words to adequately articulate a message. I'm not asking for perfection, but this is just beyond disappointing for me to even bring it up. This level of language proficiency is embarrassingly worse than a 5yo.

I can't believe how this can be so hard to comprehend, especially when this has absolutely no negative sides to the gameplay, and would boost the sub sales also.

- There is no action at castle. It is absolutely dead bc of the parking. People fight for a few mins then someone would ambush them with a higher level. They never come back to the wilderness again. There wouldn't be a 2ip fort if castle wasn't a problem. Fort is an artificial lure to foster pking action since castle was exploited by people who have a lot of free time on their hand.

- Existing players already have accounts, they don't have time to train 10 accounts at every single level to compete with folks who have a huge char lists for some odd reason. Artificially giving players easy obtainable stats or "Pking mode" suggestion will make it even worse with teams who have a lot of uniques. This will allow them to have multiple chars camped around the wilderness, which only exacerbates the problem. It's ironic that you're complaining about a "40-man team" yet suggesting pking mode at the same time, which would ultimately result in uniques having even more flat accounts at their disposal. Good luck competing against that.

- highly unethical since people have already earned their stats legit via sub cards/hundreds of hours training to pk. Not to mention if this was possible, teams with a lot of uniques would be able to obtain multiple flats and completely decimate the wilderness. In addition, allowing players to set their stats will have huge reprecussions in the wilderness. This is RSCRevolution, not turnip. One is alive, the other is dead.

Castle PK Solution by humans

Problem:

Castle has a major chars parking issue preventing new players from competing and enjoying the pk experience. New players cannot compete against parked chars. Castle is an outdated wildy location designed for thousands of players (OG Rsclassic). RSCRevolution doesn't have thousands of players, thus over the years people exploit the castle design by making and sharing huge lists of chars leading to the decline of castle pk.

People have no motivation going to castle bc they realize they would just get piled by parked chars 10+ lvls higher than them, a dirty ambush tactic which leaves people with no room to enjoy pking. This resulted in the creation of the fort system to lure people into the wilderness and spark PK action. However, fort is now a farming spot for weird timezone competition between the euros and NAs with the perpetual debate of IP restrictions.

Below is a creative approach that will solve this problem without restricting IPs.

Solution

1) Instead of an IP restriction, implement a "logout restriction" - create boundaries around castle to prevent people from logging out. This will prevent people from parking 100s accounts around this area and give newer players a reasonable opportunity to compete.

You can still log out in wilderness, but you would have to move away from castle (range of boundaries up for debate)- this gives ppl the ability to compete without fighting parked chars logging in. This doesn't solve char parking bc people could still park their chars outside of the boundary, but it would take effort for them to walk their chars to castle and they can't log in and ambush people.

2) Remove/relocate obelisk inside the castle to prevent people from camping alts at zeonk/other portals and pile people with their 50 alts.

3) Make castle a permanent hotspot with specialized NPCS which have increased drop rate of PK items (runes, swordfish, etc) to attract pkers to this area. Fort removal is optional if castle pk flourishes.

Summarized,

You cant log out at castle
So u cant park chars there
U have to go outside of the castle area to park chars
Remove/relocate the obelisk inside castle (reason stated in #2)
Takes time to walk alt chars to castle, giving people time to fight and escape
Make castle a permanent PK hotspot with specialized castle NPCs (increased rates of runes/food/pk item drops) to attract pkers to this area

This solution will give new players an opportunity to pk. They won't get ambushed by people who log in 10+ lvls higher than them out of nowhere to 3hit them, and also moderately preventing a zombie apocalypse of mass chars at castle, thus fostering pk growth.

Any reasonable person would make at maximum 2-3 flats to PK - I'm fine with multi- but there are people sitting on a huge shared char list + multiple accounts at virtually every level. At Rev you have people making hundreds of alts to get some ego edge over other ppl. This results in newer players losing the motivation to PK over the years and leads to formation of big team to compete. People don't have time to train millions of accounts in this day and age, and even if they did it would only exacerbate the problem. But big team won't last forever and sometimes you just can't tolerate this shit any longer.

I'm not going to encourage our team to make more flats bc that would kill the wilderness even more entirely. That would be childish and stupid af. Sometimes you have to look at the big picture. Teams are a major asset for pking activity in the wilderness, without them it would end up being 1v1 or completely dead wildy. There would be smaller teams if people were reasonable human beings and not intentionally trying to screw the wildy.

The wildy would be perfect for growth if there were smaller teams competing and people not camp 1000 accounts everywhere in the wilderness demotivating newer players from pk. But since they had the will to make excessive amounts of accounts in the first place, it's clear to me they want to dominate the server for an ego boost at the cost of killing the wilderness. 

1) Fort is basically WDGAF vs 10000 alts. They catch off with their alts and drain you until you're out of food/runes. I fought for 40 mins straight yesterday because ppl kept regearing on their alts and catching off nonstop. It's bad enough I have to deal with high ping living in NA, but bc most of the multis are euro players, they have priority to attack me on their alt due to their low ping while im trying to attack their original account. Imagine having to fight someone for 5 minutes, then they come with an alt to catch you off, regear, and come back to kill you. It's ridiculous.

2) Castle is dead bc no ip restriction so ppl will perpetually gang you on alts until you're out of food. No matter how many people you have in your team, there's no way to compete against this. It's perpetually worse for people who don't have a team. No cbt formula change is going to change this highly exploitative system. This kills low lvl/mid tier pk at castle.
