Pet Cats by Kleio

Since Easter Holiday we have pet cats available in the game, it was possible to buy cats as a holiday item. Since the release we have prepared updates to the cat to act on the feedback from the community as well as release new features:

  • Teen and Adult Cat can now fight NPC’s;
  • You can train cat combat levels;
  • Reworked feeding and interaction features, helping your cat grow now will be easier;
  • Owners will be better informed about cat status;
  • Cat won’t be permanently lost if it runs off due to neglect, you now get it back. Players who have lost their cat before this update can get it back as well.
  • New command ::adultcat which will show a GUI of what your cat can attack at each combat level. We have stuck to original RSC monsters for now.


About pet cats


There are in total 5 different colour schemes: gray/white, black/white, light brown/white, ginger/white, and dark gray/white. All of them have the same abilities and stats at this moment. Cat is a permanent item, you can lose it only by intentionally dropping it.

Cat is a fun and useful companion, in game you can:

  • Grow the pets by feeding, playing, training and spending time with them;
  • Train pet combat skills;
  • Have 10 extra item storage slots on the pet;
  • Have pet heal you;
  • Do duels between pets;
  • More special abilities to come in the future!


Cat growth


At this moment there are three stages of growth: kitten, teen cat, adult cat. Two more stages to be released!

Cats will mature from getting food and attention as you navigate through the game and while you're accruing experience. To get the growth points required you should be walking, training and interacting with the cat. Just standing around and giving it food every now and then is not recommended. For the cat to grow one stage you need to gather 1000 growth points.

Cat hunger and loneliness


After activating the cat, you must take good care of it until it’s an adult. You must give it food and interact with it unless it gets lonely and runs away.

Cat hunger and loneliness increases with time, it does not matter what you do in game, in ~15 minutes of being on the ground your pet may need to be fed or interacted with.

It can survive ~40 minutes without any action from the player. The cat will indicate to you that it needs something verbally as well as you will get a message in-game. The more needy the cat, the more often the cat will try to attract your attention.

When cat is lonely you can:

  • Stroke the cat, via interact menu - restores loneliness -30 points;
  • Give it ball of wool or bow string to play with - restores loneliness -60 points;

When cat is hungry you can feed it, restores hunger -50 points:

  • Bucket of milk;
  • Trout (raw and cooked);
  • Tuna (raw and cooked);
  • Sardine (raw and cooked);
  • Salmon (raw only);
  • Raw Anchovies;
  • Raw Shrimp.

Should you wish to halt the progress of your cat, you may pick the cat up and revert it to a pouch in your inventory. All progress for cats is recorded to your character, not the item. Theoretically, you can rear all 5 different sets to maturity.

Upon reaching adulthood, your cat will become significantly less demanding and will aid you in activities such as healing, holding storage.

Cat Combat Training


Cats, just like players, now have access to training combat stats - attack, defense, strength and hits. You can train your Teen or Adult cat by right clicking on it and clicking hunt. Through the same menu you can also switch the combat style the cat uses.

After hunting has been activated in the menu the cat will seek npc’s nearby that it can attack. The cat won’t engage NPC’s that are much higher level than it is, we have added protection in place, that pets will attack only certain NPC’s when it is at various levels.

When a cat has 30% of its hits left iit will retaliate from the fight. You can use food on your cat and it will heal its hits.
If a pet dies while in combat, it will run away.

While the cat is training, the player must stay 40 squares away from the cat, or it will teleport back to you.

Cat will train at half of your xp rate, you can see the cat xp rate through the stats menu.

At this moment the game client will not correctly show the cat combat level, you must click on it to get the correct information.

Healing

Adult cats will heal their owner every minute up to 5 hits outside of the Wilderness.

Storage

Adult cats can store up to 10 items (not stacks) in storage.

Dueling

Players can do duels between pets. They work exactly the same as regular duels, just players are not in control of combat style during the fight, only before it.

Opponents can see pet combat levels only after clicking on the cat. At this moment just hovering over a pet cat will show level 3 combat, it may not be true. This will be fixed in the future.

Getting the cat back after it runs off.

If you lose your cat you can get it back from the Cat Lady in Edgeville, she will give it back to you after you bring her a selection of unique items and make payment.

Future

We plan to continue incrementally updating the cat and we hope to grow it into a useful companion to walk with you. We will enable abilities to train magic as well as supply the cat with armour for protection and unpredictable duels with other pet owners.

Deadman mode season running for two weeks, ending on July 30th.

About Deadman

This game mode is similar to the Deadman mode found on OSRS, where players play in a full world PvP environment. Deadmen walk, fight in the same world as regular players, but are limited to F2P area without Wilderness. Players are required to be completely self-sufficient, everyone stands alone. Players participate in 1vs1 combat only, game mechanics don't allow multiple players to cast or range one victim. Quick changing of opponents is also not possible.



Rules

Deadman mode is hosted with a philosophy that Deadmen must be self-sufficient, gather their own resources and always risk their own hard work. This season we have solutions in place that will report suspicious activity to Moderators on Discord. If you break rules, we will know without needing to go digging into logs or wait for the community to report you.

  • Owning more than one Deadman character is not allowed;
  • Sharing Deadmen characters is not allowed;
  • Trading items is disabled and not allowed, there should be no attempt in transferring wealth to other players;
  • Suiciding to players to lose levels or give away wealth is not allowed;
  • Using mules to hold or transfer items is not allowed;
  • Swapping items between regular game mode and Deadman is not allowed, game moderators can only transfer you subscription cards;
  • There will be no such thing as giving away characters as a gift if quitting. If you quit, we can make things easy by banning the character;

If you break any of the rules above, all related parties will be banned or at least their banks will be wiped. If someone has multiple characters, staff will make contact and allow picking one character to play on without the ability to transfer wealth. If you want to created a new build, you are free to reset your combat stats with the help of Deadman NPC for free.

Deadman mode main features

  • Full World PVP (F2P map), except Edgeville, Falador East, Varrock West banks and Lumbridge;
  • Deadmen have access to Weapons and Armour, Supplies and Deadmen market shops though Deadman NPC. Everything you need you can buy from shop;
  • Whole world is single-combat;
  • Player killing you can raid your bank and get a percentage of your belongings;
  • Depending on the combat level of the opponent killing you, you will lose a percentage of unprotected stats on death (can protect 5 stats);
  • Access to safety deposit box for 10 items (not stacks);
  • Access only to f2p world, items and skills;
  • Attack range (wilderness level) in the whole map is 15 levels;
  • Characters will have a combat level cap of 63, any character build is possible, but combat xp gain will stop when combat level of 63 is reached;
  • Double experience rate (2x RSCR Rates);
  • There are special training areas accessible only by Deadmen through the map;
  • Deadman Satchel item to automatically gather skilling supplies in order to have inventory ready for fighting;
  • Killing NPC’s generates coin drops based on NPC combat level



Other features

  • No access to Wilderness;
  • No access to Auction House;
  • No trading between players;
  • Completely separate economy, stores from the regular players;
  • Teleporting and logging out requires you to stand still for 10 seconds;
  • Betty's Magic Emporium and Aubury's Rune Shops will have boosted 500 elemental runes in stock as well as 100 death runes;
  • Lowe's Archery Store will have 600 bronze arrows and 450 bolts in stock;
  • Fishing will yield 2x times the fish;
  • Mining will yield 2x times the ore;
  • Some of the available quests will be automatically completed: Cook's assistant, Imp catcher, Sheep shearer, Romeo and Juliet, Doric's quest, Witch's potion, The Restless Ghost and Shield of Arrav;
  • Two runite ores added in Rimmington, can be mined only by Deadmen;
  • Deadmen can't obtain clue scrolls;
  • Shantay and blue moon inn banks are disabled;
  • Deadmen receive a set of startup items to make the start easier;
  • For doing Dragon Slayer quest, plank has been spawned in Barbarian Village;
  • Deadmen can't receive quest XP while they have xp gain buffed after previous death;
  • Protect Items prayer and Home Teleport are disabled for Deadmen;
  • Free fish is enabled for Deadmen however, you must be out of combat for 60 seconds to gain fish;
  • Rune plate rights can be bought by using a platinum subscription in game and selecting "Buy item rights";
  • Deadman death locations are announced in the global chat kill feed;
  • Type ::deadman to see how many deadmen are online currently;



1vs1 fighting and other combat restrictions

Deadman mode is based on an idea that players must be self-sufficient, fight alone and keep it real. With every season we are making improvements to make Deadman the mode where you are most likely to get fair fights. This season we are taking additional steps against teaming. In summary Deadman combat restrictions are:

  • Whole world is single-combat, no more multi areas;
  • If one person is casting or ranging a player, other players can’t;
  • When you leave combat with a player you can’t jump to fight another, or start fighting an NPC;
  • NPC’s are not aggressive against players who have recently ran away from a PvP fight;
  • When you kill someone you are immune from attacks for 10 seconds;
  • When someone sends a projectile at you, other person can melee attack or do the same only in 10 seconds;
  • When you leave melee combat, you can start another player only in 30 seconds;



Experience Rates

  • 25x combat experience rate (29X subbed)
  • 20X secondary combat rate (24X  Subbed)
  • 15X skilling rate (19X subbed)



Subscriber benefits

  • Increased xp rates;
  • Increased coin drops from NPC’s
  • Increased Deadman Satchel storage;

Skilling with Deadman Satchel

The Deadman Satchel is a unique item designed to enhance gameplay in the Deadman mode by allowing players to remain combat-ready while engaging in skilling activities. It offers the convenience of automatically collecting resources from activities such as mining and woodcutting. However, it's important to note that the satchel contents will be lost upon death, unlike the bank, where only a percentage of items is lost, or the safety deposit box, which provides full protection but has limited capacity.

The primary functionality of the Deadman Satchel can be summarised as follows:

Collection of Resources: When engaging in activities like mining or woodcutting, the satchel will automatically gather the obtained resources and store them within itself.

Combat Readiness: Despite focusing on skilling, the satchel allows players to maintain their combat equipment and readiness, ensuring they can quickly transition into combat if needed.

Limited Capacity: The satchel has a finite capacity to store resources. Once it reaches its maximum capacity, the player will need to visit a bank to deposit the contents before continuing their skilling activities.

Loss on Death: In the event of the player's death, the contents of the satchel will be lost entirely. This introduces an element of risk, as players must weigh the benefits of using the satchel against the potential loss of accumulated resources upon death.

The Deadman Satchel offers an alternative method for resource collection and combat readiness in Deadman mode, promoting a dynamic and strategic approach to gameplay. Players must carefully manage their satchel's contents, balancing the benefits of resource accumulation with the risk of losing everything upon death.

Satchel can store 125 items in total (not stacks), storage space can be increased by subscribing your character. +125 for Gold Subscription and + 125 for Platinum Subscription.

Visually Satchel has interface just like bank, you can organise it, deposit notes to it, withdraw items as notes works only while being inside a bank. Banker NPC can deposit whole satchel content to bank through dialogue.

If you lose the Satchel, you can get another one from Deadman Npc.



Getting gp, gear and supplies

In this mode getting gear is not difficult, we have added various shortcuts that help players accumulate wealth quickly as well as all main supplies are available in the store through Deadman NPC in Edgeville and Lumbridge.

Mining ores, chopping trees, fishing gives you 2x the resources, if you have Deadman Satchel in inventory they can be gathered very quickly. Resources that you collect can be sold to shops for some quick gp.

Killing players get you part of their bank, most active and successful PKers can raise funds quickly.

Killing NPC’s gives you coins that go straight into your inventory. The amount of coins depends on the combat level of the NPC and your subscription status.

  • No subscription: npc combat level * 9
  • Gold subscription: npc combat level * 12
  • Gold + Platinum subscription: npc combat level * 15



Death in Deadman Mode


If you die with a skull


  • You will lose a percentage from 10 most valuable stacks in your bank to the Bank Raid Chest. (Higher level opponent -> smaller percentage)
  • You will lose percentage of all unprotected stats (Higher level opponent -> Smaller percentage)

If you die unskulled

If you have taken damage from a player:

  • You will lose a smaller percentage from 10 most valuable stacks in your bank to the Bank Raid Chest. (Higher level opponent -> smaller percentage)
  • You will lose a smaller percentage of all unprotected stats (Higher level opponent -> Smaller percentage)
  • You will lose all items from your inventory and equipment

Maximum loss percentage is 50%, minimum is 15%.

If you have not taken any damage from a player:

  • You keep 3 most valuable items
  • You don't lose any bank items
  • You don't lose any experience

If you die and lose experience, your experience rate for that skill is doubled until you reach the experience you once had.

If you die while having a Deadman Satchel in inventory to a player, opponent gets 50% coin value of your satchel contents. If you die to an NPC Satchel just vanishes. Contents of the Satchel are always lost.



Bank Raid Keys & Chests

If you manage to kill a player in Deadman Mode, you will receive a Deadman Key. This key will give you access to a chest which contains a percentage of 10 most valuable stacks from the opponent's bank.

Deadman Key:

  • Received upon killing a player;
  • Unlocks bank raid chest;
  • Cannot be traded, banked, only destroyed;
  • When you kill a player who has got Deadman Keys in his inventory, you will get his keys;
  • You can only hold a maximum of five keys at a time, if you have five keys and kill someone, the key will not be dropped.


Bank Raid Chest:

  • Deadman keys should be used on Bank Raid Chest located in Edgeville bank;



Safety Deposit Box

Deadmen have an option to keep their most valuable items safe using a safety deposit box which can hold up to 10 items, not stacks. The box can be accessed through Bankers.

Stat protection

You can protect stats from being reduced on death:

  • 1 Combat skill (attack, strength and defense);
  • 1 Secondary combat skill (prayer, magic and ranged);
  • 3 Skilling stats.

Hitpoints are auto-calculated on death.
You can protect your stats by opening stat menu and right clicking the stat you want to protect, and selecting "Protect <stat>".

Combat stat reduction

If you’d like to change the build of your account you have two options, both are accessible through Deadman NPC.

  • Reduce one combat stat to 1 or nearest rounded number, for example 49 to 40. This costs Platinum Subscription Card.;
  • Reset your combat status fully, this means becoming Combat Level 3 again. The reset affects combat stats only - Attack, Strength, Defence, Hits, Prayer, Ranged and Magic. The reset is done for free.

Suiciding to players to reduce stats is now a bannable offence.



Skull mechanism

  • Skull default time is 15 minutes, maximum skull time 30 minutes;
  • Each time you attack a player while you are skulled, your skull timer is reset and your skull time is extended by two minutes.
  • If you attack a player 30 or more levels below you, your skull time is set to 30 minutes.
  • Your skull timer does not tick down if you stand still. You have to be on the move to lose your skull.
  • Players who attack you when you are skulled will not get skulled themselves.
  • Safe zones have high level guards, which attack skulled players trying to enter it.



Kill-streaks


Each time you kill a player, your kill-streak increases. This is indicated by your skull color changing.
Additionally, the amount of Deadman Keys you hold in your inventory is indicated above skull by key icons.

- Attack option is only shown on deadman players.

Deadman statistics and prize list

For prizes similar to last year Deadmen can compete for killing the most NPCs of various types as well as compete on statistics from various skilling and player killing activities. To see where you rank in all categories type ::highscore in-game. This season characters can be hidden in the highscores, however this does not affect the listing you can see in-game.

Public testing

It’s time for another season of Deadman. Today we’re launching a public test of the latest game mode features. Mode is returning with various changes, bug fixes and lessons learned from previous seasons. The test will last a week or so, the goal is to find any issues before the main competition starts. There will be no prizes, chars will be wiped when the testing ends. After testing is completed we will launch the mode for a month with prizes listed at the bottom of this post.

Changes to make testing easier:

  • 300k startup cash;

The Deadman Satchel is a unique item designed to enhance gameplay in the Deadman mode by allowing players to remain combat-ready while engaging in skilling activities. It offers the convenience of automatically collecting resources from activities such as mining and woodcutting. However, it's important to note that the satchel contents will be lost upon death, unlike the bank, where only a percentage of items is lost, or the safety deposit box, which provides full protection but has limited capacity.

The primary functionality of the Deadman Satchel can be summarised as follows:

Collection of Resources: When engaging in activities like mining or woodcutting, the satchel will automatically gather the obtained resources and store them within itself.

Combat Readiness: Despite focusing on skilling, the satchel allows players to maintain their combat equipment and readiness, ensuring they can quickly transition into combat if needed.

Limited Capacity: The satchel has a finite capacity to store resources. Once it reaches its maximum capacity, the player will need to visit a bank to deposit the contents before continuing their skilling activities.

Loss on Death: In the event of the player's death, the contents of the satchel will be lost entirely. This introduces an element of risk, as players must weigh the benefits of using the satchel against the potential loss of accumulated resources upon death.

The Deadman Satchel offers an alternative method for resource collection and combat readiness in Deadman mode, promoting a dynamic and strategic approach to gameplay. Players must carefully manage their satchel's contents, balancing the benefits of resource accumulation with the risk of losing everything upon death.

Satchel can store 125 items in total (not stacks), storage space can be increased by subscribing your character. +125 for Gold Subscription and + 125 for Platinum Subscription.

Visually Satchel has interface just like bank, you can organise it, deposit notes to it, withdraw items as notes works only while being inside a bank. Banker NPC can deposit whole satchel content to bank through dialogue.

If you lose the Satchel, you can get another one from Deadman Npc.



Getting gp, gear and supplies

In this mode getting gear is not difficult, we have added various shortcuts that help players accumulate wealth quickly as well as all main supplies are available in the store through Deadman NPC in Edgeville and Lumbridge.

Mining ores, chopping trees, fishing gives you 2x the resources, if you have Deadman Satchel in inventory they can be gathered very quickly. Resources that you collect can be sold to shops for some quick gp.

Killing players get you part of their bank, most active and successful PKers can raise funds quickly.

Killing NPC’s gives you coins that go straight into your inventory. The amount of coins depends on the combat level of the NPC and your subscription status.

  • No subscription: npc combat level * 9
  • Gold subscription: npc combat level * 12
  • Gold + Platinum subscription: npc combat level * 15



Death in Deadman Mode


If you die with a skull


  • You will lose a percentage from 10 most valuable stacks in your bank to the Bank Raid Chest. (Higher level opponent -> smaller percentage)
  • You will lose percentage of all unprotected stats (Higher level opponent -> Smaller percentage)

If you die unskulled

If you have taken damage from a player:

  • You will lose a smaller percentage from 10 most valuable stacks in your bank to the Bank Raid Chest. (Higher level opponent -> smaller percentage)
  • You will lose a smaller percentage of all unprotected stats (Higher level opponent -> Smaller percentage)
  • You will lose all items from your inventory and equipment

Maximum loss percentage is 50%, minimum is 15%.

If you have not taken any damage from a player:

  • You keep 3 most valuable items
  • You don't lose any bank items
  • You don't lose any experience

If you die and lose experience, your experience rate for that skill is doubled until you reach the experience you once had.

If you die while having a Deadman Satchel in inventory to a player, opponent gets 50% coin value of your satchel contents. If you die to an NPC Satchel just vanishes. Contents of the Satchel are always lost.



Bank Raid Keys & Chests

If you manage to kill a player in Deadman Mode, you will receive a Deadman Key. This key will give you access to a chest which contains a percentage of 10 most valuable stacks from the opponent's bank.

Deadman Key:

  • Received upon killing a player;
  • Unlocks bank raid chest;
  • Cannot be traded, banked, only destroyed;
  • When you kill a player who has got Deadman Keys in his inventory, you will get his keys;
  • You can only hold a maximum of five keys at a time, if you have five keys and kill someone, the key will not be dropped.


Bank Raid Chest:

  • Deadman keys should be used on Bank Raid Chest located in Edgeville bank;



Safety Deposit Box

Deadmen have an option to keep their most valuable items safe using a safety deposit box which can hold up to 10 items, not stacks. The box can be accessed through Bankers.

Stat protection

You can protect stats from being reduced on death:

  • 1 Combat skill (attack, strength and defense);
  • 1 Secondary combat skill (prayer, magic and ranged);
  • 3 Skilling stats.

Hitpoints are auto-calculated on death.
You can protect your stats by opening stat menu and right clicking the stat you want to protect, and selecting "Protect <stat>".

Combat stat reduction

If you’d like to change the build of your account you have two options, both are accessible through Deadman NPC.

  • Reduce one combat stat to 1 or nearest rounded number, for example 49 to 40. This costs Platinum Subscription Card.;
  • Reset your combat status fully, this means becoming Combat Level 3 again. The reset affects combat stats only - Attack, Strength, Defence, Hits, Prayer, Ranged and Magic. The reset is done for free.

Suiciding to players to reduce stats is now a bannable offence.



Skull mechanism

  • Skull default time is 15 minutes, maximum skull time 30 minutes;
  • Each time you attack a player while you are skulled, your skull timer is reset and your skull time is extended by two minutes.
  • If you attack a player 30 or more levels below you, your skull time is set to 30 minutes.
  • Your skull timer does not tick down if you stand still. You have to be on the move to lose your skull.
  • Players who attack you when you are skulled will not get skulled themselves.
  • Safe zones have high level guards, which attack skulled players trying to enter it.



Kill-streaks


Each time you kill a player, your kill-streak increases. This is indicated by your skull color changing.
Additionally, the amount of Deadman Keys you hold in your inventory is indicated above skull by key icons.

For prizes similar to last year Deadmen can compete for killing the most NPCs of various types as well as compete on statistics from various skilling and player killing activities. To see where you rank in all categories type ::highscore in-game. This season characters can be hidden in the highscores, however this does not affect the listing you can see in-game.

Deadman season has ended, thank you to everyone that has participated, I hope you had a good time. Special thanks to those who provided feedback on how to improve the event or reported issues.

It would be great if any participants could share any feedback about what they liked in the event, anything they did not like and share any ideas for future Deadman seasons. It's priceless to get feedback from players who actually spent time playing, here is interesting thread started by Meany Petis.

Characters

We have disabled all Deadmen characters, they will have their banks wiped and items from safety deposit box transferred to banks. As an additional thanks to the community we will not reduce stats this time for characters and convert them to regular ones without any XP loss.

Prizes

We will be doing an audit of results and check for any cheating or abnormal behaviour since we had some reports. When all is done we will announce winners of each category. This should be done in a day or so.

Our ideas for next season


  • Two inventories - one for skilling, other for pk. It kind of sucked to skill and risk getting PK'ed, we would like to make it possible to be ready for all times. We're considering to make dedicated skilling and PKing inventories.
  • Anti-teaming measures. If you cast, range or mele attack anyone they will be your only possible opponent for a certain period of time. This will be communicated in the client interface, the player attacked will also be informed who is their opponent for a fight. If someone has an opponent, they won't be able to be attacked.
  • Improve fight tracking. We had some issues with wrong persons sometimes getting deadman kills, we rework how it is done for next season.
  • Firmly enforced 1IP, right now we verbally asked players to not have multiple characters, but did not have code in place to automatically enforce this.

You may expect next season to happen in 2-3 months, this time we will announce it in advance as well as have the prizes and goal defined.

Now that the season is over you can expect some QoL updates and Client update. What should we work on next? Suggestions?

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas period and had time to gain the levels you wanted and get the rares you thrived for. Today we are ending the Christmas event for all characters except for Deadmen.

If you did not gather the right amount of tokens, there is still a chance to do that on a Deadman character. With help from a moderator you will be able to transfer your tokens from Deadman to your main and buy the items you wanted, or transfer the rares after the Deadman ends.

We apologize for any progress lost by players, but there should be much more spicy Deadman action because more players will be motivated to start.

Currently there is no easy way to compare statistics on highscores, we will fix that soon.

We are not giving prizes for most kills or other statistics that are always heavily abused during events like this, it just causes more issues and conflicts with the community. I sincerely hope you will understand that and will fight for the other categories.

What happens to Deadman characters after event

They will become regular players with wiped banks apart from the safety deposit boxes content and 50% XP reduction.

Please remember Deadman is 1IP event and only one character should be created and used by a single person.

Deadman mode has returned to RSCR as a Christmas event! For this holiday - very high xp rate, better holiday token drops, easier skilling, gear available to purchase in stores, coin drops from npc’s!

This game mode is similar to the Deadman mode found on OSRS, where players play in a full world PvP environment. Deadmen won't be playing on a separate world, they will be playing along with regular players. Deadmen are a new character type just like iron-men or veteran mode.

DMM players are required to be completely self-sufficient, at the bottom of the post there is a list of rules that Deadmen must follow. Please read them and if you believe that you won't be able to follow them, do not play DMM and enjoy gathering holiday tokens on regular characters.

During the Christmas event Deadmen get additional 20% boost for tokens, as well as get tokens for every player they kill. Tokens from Deadmen can be transferred to main accounts on request to player moderators.

To join the Deadman experience, please create a new character and ask to become a deadman in the first room.

Deadman mode main features

  • Full World PVP (F2P map), except in safe zones: Karamja fishing platform,  part of Lumbridge and banks: New Edgeville, Varrock West, Falador East, Lumbridge;
  • Deadmen have access to a shared deadman shop in Edgeville, this is equipped with all the items you probably need, you can also sell to this shop;
  • Majority of world is single-combat, zone around Edgeville is multi-combat;
  • Player killing you can raid your bank and get a percentage of your belongings;
  • Depending on the combat level of the opponent killing you, you will lose a percentage of unprotected stats on death (can protect 5 stats);
  • Access to safety deposit box for 10 items (not stacks);
  • Access only to f2p world, items and skills;
  • Attack range (wilderness level) in the whole map is 15 levels;
  • Characters will have a combat level cap of 60, any character build is possible, but combat xp gain will stop when combat level of 60 is reached;
  • Double experience rate (2x RSCR Rates);
  • There are special training areas accessible only by Deadmen through the map;

Other features

  • No access to Wilderness;
  • No access to Auction House;
  • No trading between players;
  • Completely separate economy, stores from the regular players;
  • Teleporting and logging out requires you to stand still for 10 seconds;
  • Betty's Magic Emporium and Aubury's Rune Shops will have boosted 500 elemental runes in stock as well as 100 death runes;
  • Lowe's Archery Store will have 600 bronze arrows and 450 bolts in stock;
  • Fishing will yield 2x times the fish;
  • Mining will yield 2x times the ore;
  • Some of the available quests will be automatically completed: Cook's assistant, Imp catcher, Sheep shearer, Romeo and Juliet, Doric's quest, Witch's potion, The Restless Ghost and Shield of Arrav;
  • Two runite ores added in Rimmington, can be mined only by Deadmen;
  • Deadmen can't obtain clue scrolls;
  • Shantay and blue moon inn banks are disabled;
  • Deadmen receive a set of startup items to make the start easier;
  • While killing NPC's Deadmen will have a chance to get a random supply drop;
  • For doing Dragon Slayer quest, plank has been spawned in Barbarian Village;
  • Deadmen can't receive quest XP while they have xp gain buffed after previous death;
  • Protect Items prayer and Home Teleport are disabled for Deadmen;
  • Free fish is enabled for Deadmen however, you must be out of combat for 60 seconds to gain fish;
  • Deadmen can do all F2P quests (some are auto completed) - You can buy plate rights if you wish by using a platinum subscription in game and selecting "buy item rights";

Main changes for this season


  • It has been made more difficult to jump from combat with one player to another;
  • Not possible to attack npc’s when running from combat as well ar not aggressive at players running from combat;
  • While killing NPC's Deadmen will receive some gold for supplies;
  • Supplies shop with runes, gear, food;
  • Supplies shop acts as a general store Deadmen can sell and buy items from;
  • While killing NPC's Deadmen will receive some gold for supplies;
  • Death locations are announced in the global chat kill feed;

- Safe zones have high level guards, which attack skulled players trying to enter it.

Kill-streaks


Each time you kill a player, your kill-streak increases. This is indicated by your skull color changing.
Additionally, the amount of Deadman Keys you hold in your inventory is indicated above skull by key icons.

Deadman Appearance


- Deadman Characters will have their name drawn in blood red, in chat and above head.
- Attack option is only shown on deadman players.

Single-combat area mechanics

- 20 Second timer after combat before others can attack
- Timer is reset to 20 seconds on any damage from your opponent.
- You cannot attack anyone else but the person attacking you.

Rules

Deadman mode is hosted with a philosophy that Deadmen must be self sufficient, gather their own resources and always risk their own hard work. For that reason this season we will be implementing strict rules and will be monitoring deadmen related logs for any suspicious activity. This is also involved alternative character.;
- Trading items is disabled and not allowed;
- Selling items in auction house at low prices to make a trade is not allowed;
- Using mules to hold or transfer items is not allowed;
- Swapping items between regular game mode and DMM is not allowed, game moderators can only transfer you subscription cards;
- Trying to gain any wealth in a way that obviously show an attempt to transfer items between chars will be taken as a bannable offense as well. If there are any questionable situations, staff reserves the right to discuss the situation internally and take appropriate action against offenders.

If you find that being self sufficient is not your cup of tea, please do not complain or play DMM trying to break the rules, just skip this particular activity and enjoy the regular game mode. There will be other DMM seasons in the future and the rules may be different, but for this event, these are the rules. Breaking of any DMM rules will result in a ban of all parties involved, ban will count as a ban on regular game mode and may move you towards a list ban if you've been banned in the past.

Deadmen are gathering few interested statistics just for fun, when season ends we will announce winners for these categories, these can be find on highscores in Deadmen section. Deadmen are not allowed to hide on highscores.

Hello everyone. First of all, we’d like to thank those loyal players among us that are still sticking around, we know you have choices but believe us you made the right choice with us, August is RSCrevolutions birthday month! Crazy that we have been going for 7 long years now, many other servers have come and gone, and we are still here doing our thing. I'd like to inform our community about the latest developments, future of the server and of course activities of next month.

New leadership


I'd like to begin by congratulating Mod Terror in becoming the Administrator of RSCRevolution. He is sincerely one of the nicest persons I've met on RSCR Staff Team, he has stuck with us through some rough times and lots of drama. I have complete trust in him and I believe this may be a start of a new chapter in RSCR that everyone was waiting for.

I personally don't have the motivation or energy at the moment to give our community the attention and time it deserves and utilize RSCR to its full potential. For that reason I'd love Terror to accept more responsibilities and be not a Head Moderator, but Administrator and Community Manager of RSCR.

Going forward I will be sticking to keeping RSCR online and running, Terror will work the community and be the face of RSCR, the person the community talks with when they want something to happen.

What will I do? I started developing for RSCR when I was a complete nooby developer, sticking to doing small things, debugging and creating fun experiences for the community as a creative outlet/hobby. I'd like to continue doing that, but without the responsibility to take care of everything all round, which is what happened when I got ownership of the server. Going forward, I'd like to try turning RSCR back to something that is a creative outlet for me, rather than a burden causing stress as it is now.

What's going on next month?


Upcoming month we have our birthday and with the latest developments in the RSCPS scene, we need to become more competitive. So we will be hosting a sort of summer event that will give everyone a chance to gear up, stock up on supplies and later hopefully have some fun.

To celebrate our 7th Birthday, we’re going to be giving away cake! That is right, everything you do in game, if that’s killing npcs or mining/smithing everything has a chance of a random cake.

Eat the cake to find treasures inside! There could be lots of shiny things and even a chance at some of the old holiday items that are rarely seen, imagine getting a Christmas Cracker or Scythe from 2014? It will be rare but possible.

What will happen in the future, are we still developing RSCR?


Yes, absolutely! We currently have TDM changes in testing stage (voting for character builds before start), we have a client bug fixes patch lined up. Down the line I will be working with Terror about some fundamental changes for RSCR. We will be celebrating 7th bday and well we're kind of getting stale. I don't want to share any plans at the moment, but in this post I want to simply ask everyone to have an open mind with what is happening next.

Let us have lots of fun this month and spread some positivity around, after all, we all play this game because we love it and it deserves more love then we often hear around these parts.

Hello everyone,

next week I'm on vacation and will be giving much needed attention to RSCR development. Currently I'm prioritizing tasks for next week and I'd like to strike a good balance between QoL, Skiller and PK related changes.

There are some great suggestion posts here and on Discord and I will be grabbing ideas from them. But if there is anything you'd like to add or like to pitch ideas, now is the best time. I will be available on Discord for any discussions about things to be done as well, feel free to DM me.

I probably won't be taking on any substantial reworks, I want to tidy things up first.

Thank you for any new or previous suggestions if you wrote them already smile On Monday I will share what me and the team came up with and get on it.

Hello everyone,

I'm very happy to announce that last weekend we released significant performance improvements to our server. For past couple weeks our server has been experiencing lag spikes when game ticks were basically put on hold, server even crashed when it could not resume the game service.

Resolving this issue put us through quite a journey and lots of changes have been done to in attempt to fix the issue. Since the release of final fixes we seem to not get any performance abnormality complains from the community and we're very happy that this process is over! No more restarts few times a day, they were only part of the process.

I hope community will be more trusting and relaxed to go back and enjoy staking and pk'ing without surprise lag. Also I'm very sorry for any players who were accused of DDoS by anyone wearing a tin foil hat. If anyone has lost some gear while playing, I hope you can use the opportunity of buffed drops to regear and enjoy the game smile

Unfortunately there is no way to get rid of it sad Majority of players these days play RSC with multiple accounts. I hope these custom features won't scare you off, these were developed over many years of requests from the playerbase.

Thank you to everyone who has taken their time to write their opinion about this topic here or sent me a DM, I especially enjoyed the newer community members feedback.

This topic was posted on news to attract maximum attention to the idea, this is not something I would be jumping to do now. There is quite a bit of work to do for player who play RSCR NOW, not maybe sometime if we do what they ask smile

On PvP related note we have a developer currently revamping our Survival, FFA, Hunger games, TDM, CTF system into one unified one for better player experience without even needing Wilderness.

We will be giving more supplies to the player base through reworked drops and changes to the PK Mode characters.

Thanks for the feedback guys, keep it coming smile I'd also attract attention to the argument that some players just won't play here because of there is an option for easy pk with lower latency elsewhere. With one server location there is no way attract majority of RSC community.
